I love the Atrian language, thanks for sharing it. I like that you translate peoples names, i'd really love to see the main characters names in Atrian (Roman, Emery, Drake, Taylor, etc). Thanks! ~ Heidi

Sure, that sounds like fun! That’ll be a nice way to close out the day. :)

First, let’s start with our heroes, Roman…

Next, my favorites, Taylor…

And the couple that got love-triangled out, Lukas…

One more pair in Eric…

And poor Mr. Third Wheel, Grayson:

All the names above are American names. The idea is that all the child—and some of the adult—Atrians took American names after Arrival Day. Someone like Lily, played by Summer Parker, never even had an Atrian name. Two main characters did, though. One was Castor, whose name has the same suffix that Jesitor has on it:image

His is an old name, built off the word kas, which would mean something like “he of the knife”.

And the other Atrian name was Drake’s mother, Saroya:

Saroya comes from the same root as the adjective sedi, which means “fast” or “quick”—a good name for someone from the Vwasak or “warrior” tribe.

If you watched the series finale tonight, I hope you enjoyed it! If you’re on the West Coast and haven’t seen it yet, just a couple of hours!

Thanks for the ask. :)
